Accessibility
This site aims at WCAG 2.2 AA. It does not fully meet it yet. Below is what works, what does not, and when the gaps are expected to close — the same honesty the rest of the record runs on.
What holds today
| Contrast | Body and interface text meet AA against paper and against the dark masthead. |
| Keyboard | Every control is reachable and shows a visible focus ring, including the Discover filter pills. |
| Structure | One h1 per page, headings in order, landmarks on every template. |
| Motion | No autoplay, no parallax; reduced-motion preferences are respected. |
| Zoom | Readable at 200% without horizontal scrolling. |
Known gaps
| Spoiler blur | Blurred reasons need a clearer control label for screen readers. expected: August 2026 |
| Coverage charts | The coverage graphics need text equivalents beside them, not only in the alt attribute. expected: September 2026 |
| Older pages | A few pages from the magazine era have not been rebuilt and do not meet the standard above. They are being retired rather than patched. expected: August 2026 |

Assessment method: self-evaluation against WCAG 2.2 AA using keyboard-only passes, VoiceOver spot checks, and automated contrast auditing. No third-party audit has been commissioned; when one is, its findings will be published here whatever they say.
