Who is responsible

Riley Locke Publications ("we"), operating from the United States, runs this site and decides what happens with the data described here — in legal terms, the data controller. For anything in this policy: singh.gautam01@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

Readership statistics (only with your consent). If you allow the Analytics cookies, Google Analytics gives us anonymous numbers — which pieces get read, from roughly where, on what kind of device. Legal basis: consent, withdrawable any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer. Retention: 14 months, then gone.

Comments. When you comment we store the name and email you provide, the comment, and a spam-prevention identifier. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in hosting a discussion that is not entirely robots. Retention: until you ask us to remove it.

The newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address for exactly one purpose: sending you the pieces. Legal basis: consent, given by subscribing and confirmed by double opt-in; withdrawn by the unsubscribe link in every email. We never buy, sell, rent, or trade addresses.

Server logs. Our host keeps standard technical logs (IP address, request, time) for security. Legal basis: legitimate interest in a site that stays up. Retention: our host's standard short window.

Who else touches the data

Three processors, each doing one job: Google (analytics, only with consent), our email service (newsletter delivery), and our hosting provider (serving the site). Some of these process data outside your country under standard contractual safeguards. Nobody gets data for advertising. There are no ad networks, no tracking pixels, and nothing here is "sold" or "shared" in the California sense.

Your rights

Wherever you live, we honor the full set: access to what we hold about you, correction, deletion, a portable copy, objection to processing, and withdrawal of any consent — none of it conditional on a reason. Email us and we will act within a month. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data-protection authority. If you are in a US state with a privacy law of its own, those rights are covered by the same email — and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal automatically, no request needed.

We also honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically: if your browser sends it, analytics stays off without you touching a banner.

Cookies

The complete inventory — every cookie, its purpose, and its lifetime — lives on the Cookie Policy page, generated from the same list the consent banner enforces, so the two cannot disagree.

Children

This site publishes literary criticism of romance and genre fiction and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if that has happened, email us and it will be removed.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and material changes to cookie use re-trigger the consent banner automatically.
